Trip to TX: Part 2 (There is Always a Party)
So, here’s a tricky thing about gin: It smells like flowers, which is lovely. And it tastes nice with some tonic and a lime. And you might have two drinks and feel fine, but then when you’re laying down to sleep, closing your eyes becomes dangerous. You open your eyes and sit up and look around the room and think, “When did I suddenly get drunk?” Then the next morning, when people are waking up on the floor and on couches, even the person who was throwing up in the bushes seems to feel just fine, and you’re still laying there trying extra hard not to move, and not only does it hurt to move your head too fast, but if you try to look out of the corner of your eye, it feels like you’ve somehow strained a muscle in your retina, and you know you don’t have muscles in your retina, but they hurt nonetheless.
This is why gin is evil.
The party was fun, though. There were many pictures taken, and some of themĀ will never see the light of day (or else lives will be lost).
There were lots of good things last night, but maybe the best was that Ktree showed up. I hadn’t seen her since I moved away from Texas in Dec. ‘05. So I wasn’t sure if we were going to be able to see each other during this trip because I am a terrible planner, but it worked out.
I think I had more to blog about, but we just went to Dino’s for lunch, so I am very full and tired. It’s nap time. (Remind me to tell you about Dino’s later.)
